Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:
✅ Be an early-career researcher engaged in Africa-related studies
✅ Have citizenship and residence in an African country
✅ Be a doctoral candidate (PhD student) or a recent postdoctoral researcher (PhD completed within the last four years)
✅ Conduct research aligned with the UN Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
✅ Have no access to international research funding

Scholarship Benefits (Fully Funded)

Selected scholars will receive:

Round-trip airfare (from home country to Uppsala, Sweden)
Accommodation during the research stay
Daily allowance of 400 SEK (≈ $40) for living expenses
One-time installation grant of 2,500 SEK (≈ $250)
Access to NAI’s research facilities and library
Workstation with a personal computer

Note: Health insurance and personal expenses are not covered by the scholarship.
