Berea College Undergraduate Scholarship, 2026 – Study in the United States

Berea College, located in Kentucky, USA, is renowned for its commitment to offering high-quality education to students who demonstrate both strong academic potential and financial need. Berea has maintained a No-Tuition Promise since 1892, ensuring that no student pays tuition. The Berea College Undergraduate Scholarship 2026 continues this tradition, providing international students with a unique opportunity to study in the United States under a fully funded model that covers most academic and living expenses.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Berea College Undergraduate Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

  • Be international students who demonstrate significant financial need.
  • Have a strong academic record, typically with above-average grades and evidence of college readiness.
  • All applicants must provide proof of meeting Berea College’s minimum English language proficiency standards.
  • Students must achieve scores between 20 and 30 on the ACT (or SAT equivalent) and maintain a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0, ideally within a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Applicants have the option to take either the ACT or SAT.
  • In addition to these academic criteria, we will also consider other important factors such as community service, leadership abilities, and motivation levels. The application process is based on merit and demonstrated leadership.
  • Submit all application materials by the set deadline.

  • Full tuition coverage for all four years of study.
  • First-year funding that covers tuition, room, board, and student fees.
  • From the second year onwards, students contribute about $1,000 annually, which can be earned through on-campus summer jobs.
  • A work-study program where each student works at least 10 hours per week on campus, earning between $2,000 and $3,000 per year to cover personal expenses.
  • Additional support such as a free laptop, internship funding, and assistance with professional clothing.
Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following:

  1. Completed International Application Form for Admission and Scholarship.
  2. Official academic transcripts from high school, translated into English if necessary.
  3. Personal essay (2–5 pages) explaining academic goals, life experiences, and plans after graduation.
  4. Two letters of recommendation (preferably one from a teacher).
  5. Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, ACT, or Duolingo scores).
  6. Financial documents, including:
    • Financial Questionnaire.
    • Financial Resource Recommendation Form.
