PTDF Overseas Scholarship Interviews 2025: Essential Tips and Guidelines

The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is one of Nigeria’s most competitive and prestigious scholarship schemes for postgraduate studies abroad. The commission announced on Monday, July 14, 2025, that it has shortlisted several candidates for the upcoming interview stage of the PTDF Overseas Scholarship.

During a press conference held at the PTDF Interview Centre in Kaduna, Mr. Atahiru Ahmad, the PTDF Manager of Training, shared that a total of 5,746 candidates have made the shortlist nationwide. He mentioned that these candidates will partake in the interview and screening process across the country.

Among them, 3,875 candidates are seeking Master’s degrees, while 1,871 will be interviewed for PhD degrees.

  • Visit the PTDF portal: scholarship.ptdf.gov.ng
  • Log in with your email and application ID.
  • Check your dashboard or download the full shortlist PDF (when published).

  • Port Harcourt — often at Petroleum Training Institute or a PTDF partner hotel.

2025 PTDF Overseas Scholarship Interview Dates

The PTDF Scholarship Interview kicked off on Monday, July 14th, 2025, in Kaduna for the NorthWest zone and is set to continue throughout the week.

However, the nationwide interview scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th, has been postponed until further notice due to the Federal Government declaring a public holiday in remembrance of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Candidates who were scheduled for Tuesday are advised to regularly check their emails and the PTDF website for updates regarding new dates and venues.

Documents Required for the PTDF Interview

Every shortlisted candidate must appear at their designated center with original and photocopies of the following documents:

  • Printout of PTDF application form/shortlist letter
  • University degree certificate(s) and transcript(s)
  • NYSC discharge/exemption certificate
  • WAEC/NECO certificate
  • Admission letter or evidence of application to a PTDF-partner university (if available)
  • National ID card, international passport, or voter’s card
  • Local Government Identification letter
