United Nations University (UNU) Scholarship for Developing Countries, 2026

The United Nations University Scholarship Joint Master’s Program stands out among a select few international postgraduate programs that receive support from the EPOS funding scheme, courtesy of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This Master’s program is the result of a successful collaboration between the University of Bonn’s Department of Geography and the United Nations University.

This initiative significantly enhances the international profile of the University of Bonn, with backing from DAAD. The scholarship offered covers all tuition fees and living expenses for chosen candidates pursuing their studies in Germany.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates interested in this program must meet the following requirements, in addition to the general eligibility criteria for the Master’s program:

  • Be a candidate from a “Developing Country,” as classified by DAAD.
  • Have a minimum of two years of practical work experience in a relevant field (such as with an NGO, governmental organization, or the private sector).
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree obtained no longer than five years ago.
  • Not have completed another Master’s degree in a similar area of study.
  • Have aspirations for a professional career related to the program of study.
Duration and Benefits

Successful applicants will receive funding to cover all expenses associated with the study program, including their living costs in Bonn.
