ACE-SPED University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) Opens Postgraduate Admissions, 2025/2026

The Africa Center of Excellence for Sustainable Power and Energy Development (ACE-SPED), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), has announced the commencement of applications for its postgraduate programs for the 2025/2026 academic session. The center also noted that a limited number of scholarships are available for qualified applicants.

Available Programs

Applicants may apply for postgraduate studies in the following areas. Options are available at M.Eng, M.Sc, and Ph.D levels where indicated:

  • Renewable and New Energy Systems (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Power Engineering (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Sustainable Energy Materials Engineering (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Industrial Electronics and Power Devices (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Control and Instrumentation Engineering (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Energy Policy, Regulation, and Management (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Engineering Design and Product Development (M.Eng/M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Management of Technology and Innovation (MoTI) (M.Sc & Ph.D)
  • Additive Manufacturing / 3-D Printing Technology (Postgraduate Diploma)
Program Duration

The duration of each program is as follows:

  • M.Sc Program: 3 semesters (18 months)
  • Ph.D Program: 6 semesters (36 months)
  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in 3-D Printing: 2 semesters (12 months)
Important Dates

Applicants are advised to take note of the following key dates:

  • Application deadline: 31 January 2026
  • Physical/Virtual interview: 9 February 2026
  • Admission notification: 16 February 2026
  • Acceptance of admission: On or before 23 February 2026
  • Commencement of session and registration: 23 February 2026
How to Apply

Applicants should follow these steps to complete their application:

  1. Pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦26,700 through the Remita platform by selecting Application Fees.
  2. Make payment using the ACE-SPED UNN Remita payment page.
  3. After payment, complete the online application form via the ACE-SPED postgraduate application portal.

The center stated that non-Nigerian applicants are exempted from paying the application fee.

Transcript Submission

All applicants must arrange for their official academic transcripts to be sent directly from their previous institutions to the address below:
