2026 UTME Result Is Out: How to Check with SMS

The 2026 UTME result is now available. If you want a fast and easy way to check it, you can use the official SMS method. It is simple, but you must follow each step correctly. This update was shared by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, on X.

Candidates who wrote the exam on April 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, and 23 can check their results using SMS. To do this, you need a phone, the same SIM card you used for registration, and at least ₦50 airtime.

Here’s How to Check:

  • Open the messaging app on your phone.
  • Type UTME RESULT or UTMERESULT in capital letters.
  • Send it to 55019 or 66019.
  • Wait for a reply.

The most important thing is to use the exact phone number you used when registering. If you use a different SIM, it will not work.

Possible Replies You May Get:

If your result is ready, your score will be sent to you.
If you used the wrong number, you will see: “This phone number was not used for registration.”
Other replies may include:

  • Result withheld (still under review)
  • Absent (you were marked as not present)
  • Registration cancelled (your exam was invalid)
  • Unauthorised access

Each message has a clear meaning, so make sure you follow the instructions properly.

Avoid fake score upgrade offers. Some people online may claim they can increase your score for money, but this is not true. The only safe ways to check your result are through the official JAMB portal or the SMS method using 55019 or 66019.

After checking your result, your next step depends on your score.

First, check the cut-off mark for your chosen school. Every school has its own minimum score.

If your score meets the requirement, you may move on to the next stage, which could include:

  • Post-UTME exam
  • Screening
  • Document checks

If your score is low, stay calm and look at other options. You can:

  • Choose a course with a lower cut-off mark
  • Pick a different school
  • Apply to change your course or institution

Remember, your UTME score is important, but it is not everything. What matters now is understanding your result and making the right next move.
