The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who selected the wrong subject combinations for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can now correct the mistake.
This information was shared by JAMB on its official social media page. The board made it clear that affected candidates should take action as soon as possible to avoid problems during admission.
Who Should Make the Correction?
This update is for candidates who:
- Chose subjects that do not match their intended course of study.
- Later discovered that their selected subjects are not accepted by their chosen institution.
- Want to avoid disqualification during the admission process.
If you fall into any of these categories, you are advised to make the correction immediately.
Where to Make the Changes
All corrections must be done at approved and accredited JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers.
Candidates should visit any accredited CBT center close to them to request the necessary changes. It is important to note that these changes cannot be done at cybercafés or through unofficial agents. Only recognized CBT centers are allowed to carry out such corrections.
Confirm the Correct Subject Combination First
Before going to the CBT center, make sure you know the correct subject combination for your chosen course.
Choosing the wrong subjects can affect your chances of gaining admission, even if you score high in the UTME. Therefore, it is very important to confirm the approved subject requirements.
Use the JAMB IBASS Platform
Candidates are advised to check the correct subject combination using the official JAMB IBASS (Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System) platform.
The IBASS system provides detailed information about:
- Required UTME subjects for each course
- O’Level requirements
- Specific institution guidelines
By checking the IBASS system, you can be sure that your subject combination matches your chosen course and institution.
Act Quickly
Candidates are encouraged not to delay. Making the correction early will prevent future complications during admission screening and processing.
If you notice any mistake in your subject combination, visit an accredited JAMB CBT centre as soon as possible and ensure everything is properly updated.
