JAMB Releases 2026 UTME Registration Guide

JAMB has announced that the sale of forms for the 2026 UTME will start on January 31, 2026. This update was shared in the new guidelines released for the exam. The announcement, posted on JAMB’s official X page, explains how to register and the common problems candidates may face. It is meant to help students get ready for the registration.

HOW TO REGISTER
  • Make sure your details — NIN, email, and A-Level results — are correct before generating your profile code.
  • Send your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 (e.g., NIN 00000011111).
  • Once your profile code is created, it cannot be changed, and your biodata will be pulled automatically from NIMC.
  • Go to any JAMB office or approved CBT centre to complete your registration.
  • Buy your E-PIN only from approved banks, online platforms, or certified vendors.
  • Check the registration template carefully and make sure all your details are correct before submitting.
  • JAMB warns that wrong or mismatched information can cause serious issues later.
IMPORTANT TIPS
  • Fix any errors on your NIMC records early and confirm the updates on your portal before registering (Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State of Origin).
  • Your phone number and email must be working, unique to you, and not shared with anyone.
  • If you have biometric problems, go straight to a JAMB office. No CBT centre should force your registration.
  • Make sure a dual screen is used during registration and confirm your passport photo and fingerprints are correct.
COMMON PROBLEMS

JAMB also listed some issues students face while generating profile codes:

  • Error 55019/66019: The message was typed wrongly. Use the correct format (e.g., NIN 00000011111).
  • Number Already Registered: The phone number is linked to another profile. Retrieve the SIM or use a different number.
  • Unable to Verify NIN: Wait and try again later.

The 2026 UTME form will be on sale from Friday, January 31, 2026, to Saturday, March 8, 2026.
