Federal Government FSB Scholarship 2025: Types & How to Apply

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB) under the Federal Ministry of Education, offers various scholarship opportunities to support Nigerian students in their academic pursuits. For the 2024/2025 academic session, the FSB is providing two main categories of scholarships:

    • Must be registered full-time students in their second year or above at federal or state universities, polytechnics, or monotechnics.
    • Must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 on a 5-point scale or 5.0 on a 7-point scale.
  • HND Applicants:
    • Must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a 4.0 scale.
  • Postgraduate Applicants:
    • Must possess a minimum of a first degree with Second Class Honors (Upper Division).
    • Must be registered full-time students at federal or state universities.

  • Must be in their second year or above.
  • Applicants must not be beneficiaries of any other scholarship or bursary awards.

In collaboration with several foreign governments, the Ministry of Education offers international scholarships for Nigerian students to study abroad. These countries include;

Benefits

The scholarships are worth a wide range of cash benefits;

Undergraduates in;

  • Colleges of Education – ₦150,000
  • Polytechnics – ₦180,000
  • Universities – ₦300,000

Postgraduates

  • ₦300,000/Yr

The FSB EBA Scholarship is ₦150,000 scholarship to eligible undergraduate students in Nigerian institutions.

The BEA Scholarship is usually funded by both the Government of Nigeria and that of the country where the studies are to be undertaken.
Usually, the partner country takes care of the tuition and all other associated costs, while the Nigerian government caters for travel, and living expenses.
