Rivers State University (RSU), Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, has released an internal memo to guide newly admitted students on clearance and registration for the 2025/2026 academic session. The memo was issued by the Acting Registrar, Dame Dr. Idanyingi I. Daminabo.
The message was sent to Provosts, Deans, Heads of Departments, Faculty Officers, and the Director of the ICT Center. These academic officers are expected to pass the information to all fresh students in their various faculties and departments.
Matriculation Date
According to the memo, the matriculation ceremony for newly admitted students has been fixed for Wednesday, 28 January 2026, in line with the Senate-approved academic calendar.
The university explained that this matriculation date also marks the end of the clearance and registration process for the session. This means that no clearance or registration will be allowed after the matriculation exercise.
Clearance and Registration
- Fresh students have been advised to visit their Faculty Officers to complete their clearance and registration within the approved period.
- Students are expected to follow official faculty procedures and not rely on guesses, rumors, or unofficial advice.
- All registration steps must be completed through the proper faculty channels.
Deadline
RSU clearly warned that any admission that is not properly cleared and registered before the deadline will be treated as having expired. In simple terms, students who fail to complete the process on time risk losing their admission.
Notice
The university management also directed that the notice should be published on the official RSU website. This is to ensure that all newly admitted students, especially those who may not yet understand internal communication systems, are well informed.
New students are strongly advised to act quickly and complete all clearance and registration requirements without delay. Faculty Officers remain the main point of contact for guidance. The message from the university is clear: failure to meet the deadline may lead to loss of admission.
