University of Calabar (UNICAL) Announces Final Extension for 2025/2026 Student Registration

The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has released an official final notice on the closure of the student registration portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. This announcement follows several appeals made by the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and other relevant university stakeholders on behalf of students who were yet to complete their registration.

After careful consideration, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Ekaette Enang, has approved a final extension to give affected students one last opportunity to complete all outstanding registration requirements.

Approved Registration Deadline

Students are hereby informed that the registration portal will remain open only for a limited period as stated below:

  • Portal Closure: 12:00 midnight on Sunday, 1st February 2026

This extension is strictly final, and the portal will automatically close once the deadline elapses.

Examination Schedule Information

The university has also provided updates on the upcoming examinations for the session:

  • General Examinations: Scheduled to commence on Monday, 16th February 2026 for most academic levels.
  • 100 Level and GSS Examinations: The dates for General Studies (GSS) and 100-level examinations will be communicated at a later time through official university channels.
Important Instructions to All Students

All students who have not completed their course registration are strongly advised to take full advantage of this final extension. Management has clearly stated that no further extension or grace period will be granted after the stated deadline.

Students should note that failure to complete registration before the portal closes may result in disqualification from participating in the forthcoming examinations.
