University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Announces Resumption Date for 2025/2026

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the resumption plan for the 2025/2026 academic session. The information was released through a circular from the Office of the Registrar. It was signed by Mrs. Zara Umar Ibrahim, Deputy Registrar (Directorate of Senate and Academic Matters). The decision was approved by the University Senate during its 321st meeting held on Thursday, 13 November 2025.

Resumption Date

UNIMAID will resume for the new academic session on Thursday, January 15, 2026. This date marks the official start of activities for the 2025/2026 session, and students are advised to prepare ahead of time.

Registration Schedule

Registration will be done in phases, with separate dates for fresh and returning students.

  • New Students:
    Registration begins on January 15, 2026.
  • Returning Students:
  • Registration starts on Monday, January 26, 2026.

The university explained that the staggered registration is to ensure smooth processing and reduce congestion on campus.

Lecture Commencement Date

Lectures for all students, both new and returning, will begin on Monday, February 2, 2026. This marks the start of full academic activities for the session.

The university management also extended warm wishes to staff and students, hoping for a peaceful and successful 2025/2026 academic session.
