Admission Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) Programs
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.
- Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with a minimum of Upper Credit from a recognized institution.
Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) Programs
- A minimum of a Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidates with a CGPA of 2.6 on a 4-point scale or 3.00 on a 5-point scale and above will be given preference.
- Holders of a good Postgraduate Diploma from a recognized university may also be considered.
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Programs
- A good Master’s degree in a relevant or related discipline, including coursework and a defended research dissertation, from a recognized university.
- A minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale or 4.0 on a 5-point scale is preferred.
- Candidates with a CGPA lower than the specified may be required to enroll in an MPhil/Ph.D. program.
- Selection tests and interviews may be part of the admission process.
Application Procedure
Interested candidates should follow the steps below to apply:
- Payment of Application Fee: Visit any branch of the following banks: First Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, Union Bank, or ABSU Microfinance Bank, and pay the application fee of ₦25,000.
- Obtain e-Transact Receipt: After payment, collect the e-transact receipt from the bank.
- Complete the Application Form: Visit the official ABSU portal at http://abiastateuniversity.edu.ng to fill out the application form.
- Referee Reports: Print three copies of the referee confidential reports from the portal. These should be completed by your referees, two of whom should be former university lecturers.
- Submission: Review your application for accuracy, submit it online, and print a copy of the completed form for your records.
