The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), through its Consultancy Services Centre, Diploma and Certificate Programs Unit, has announced the commencement of applications for admission into its two-year diploma programs for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the university, interested candidates who meet the prescribed entry requirements are invited to apply for any of the available diploma courses. The institution also provided details on the responsible unit, application procedure, cost of the form, and the closing date for submission.

UNIMAID has listed the following two-year diploma programs available for the session:
- Diploma in Mass Communication (DMC)
- Diploma in Civil Law (DCL)
- Diploma in Accounting (DAC)
- Diploma in Social Works (DSW)
- Diploma in Computer Science (DCS)
- Diploma in Information Technology (DIT)
- Diploma in Biology Education (DSB)
- Diploma in Chemistry Education (DSC)
- Diploma in Physics Education (DSP)
- Diploma in Mathematics Education (DSM)
- Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT)
- Diploma in Banking and Finance (DBF)
- Diploma in Marketing (DMK)
- Diploma in Business Administration (DBA)

General Admission Requirements
The university outlined the general admission requirements as follows:
Option A: WASC/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB/GCE
- Candidates must possess credit passes in four (4) academic subjects obtained from WASC, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or General Certificate of Education (GCE) examinations, at not more than two sittings.
- At least two of the subjects must be relevant to the intended course of study.
Option B: Teachers Grade II Certificate
- Candidates must have credit or merit passes in four (4) academic subjects in the Teachers Grade II Certificate, also obtained at not more than two sittings, with at least two relevant subjects related to the chosen program.
Application Procedure and Cost
- UNIMAID stated that application forms are obtainable from the Diploma and Certificate Programs Unit (Science Complex), University of Maiduguri, P.M.B. 1069, Maiduguri.
- To obtain the form, candidates are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Four Thousand Naira (₦4,000.00) into the UNIMAID consult account via the UNIMAID payment portal.
- Applicants are advised to keep their payment evidence, as it may be required during form collection.
Submission of Completed Forms
Completed application forms should be returned to the Diploma and Certificate Programs Unit, University of Maiduguri.
Deadline
The university announced that all completed application forms must be submitted on or before 27 February 2026. Candidates are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute delays.
