JAMB Directs Candidates to Re-Upload O’Level Results for 2025 UTME Admissions

In a recent directive published on Monday, August 25, 2025, JAMB instructed all UTME candidates who had previously uploaded their O’Level results—specifically WAEC SSCE results—before the release of the final 2025 results to revisit accredited JAMB centers and re-upload their results on the JAMB portal. This applies to all candidates, even if their previously submitted results remain unchanged.

Why the Re-Upload Was Necessary
  1. Clearing Discrepancies: The move followed reports that many candidates uploaded provisional or incomplete results prior to WAEC’s official release. JAMB cleared all prior uploads to ensure admissions would be based only on the authentic, final WAEC SSCE results.
  2. Ensuring Accuracy: By requiring a fresh upload of the final results, JAMB seeks to avoid errors, mismatches, or the use of unofficial data—thus upholding the integrity of the admission process.
  3. Mandatory Compliance: The directive is non-negotiable. All candidates must re-upload their results or risk disqualification from the ongoing admission process.
What Candidates Need to Do
  • Visit Accredited CBT Centers: Candidates should go to JAMB-accredited centers to re-submit their WAEC SSCE results via the portal.
  • Re-Upload with Urgency: This must be done immediately to ensure continued eligibility for admission consideration.
  • Regardless of Initial Submission: Even if your earlier result matches your final one, re-uploading remains compulsory
Context Behind the Directive
  • WAEC Result Rollback: On August 4, 2025, WAEC issued the initial 2025 SSCE results, which showed a 38.32% pass rate. After identifying errors attributed to a faulty serialized code affecting grades in subjects like Mathematics, English, Biology, and Economics, the exam body revised the results—raising the rate to 62.96%.
  • Impact on JAMB Submissions: This mismatch led to concerns over accuracy. As a result, around mid-August, JAMB temporarily suspended result uploads to recalibrate its systems. Once WAEC corrections were complete, the portal was reactivated—but with a clean slate: all prior uploads were erased, necessitating new submissions from all candidates.

In summary:

JAMB has mandated a fresh re-upload of final 2025 WAEC SSCE results for all UTME candidates who submitted results before the official release. This ensures admissions are based solely on accurate, final data. Immediate action via accredited centres is required to maintain eligibility.
