Launched in 2006 through a partnership between the MTN Foundation and the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), this is a fully funded, two‑year diploma aimed at nurturing outstanding young Nigerian musicians. Graduates receive an internationally-recognized diploma, transferable to university programs locally and abroad.
Course Structure & Majors
- Duration: Full-time, 2 years
- Majors Offered: Choose from Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Classical Guitar, or Voice.
- Complementary Training:
- Voice students must pass Grade 2 piano.
- Instrumentalists study vocal techniques.
- Choir participation is mandatory; strings join the orchestra; winds/percussion join the band.
This curriculum is modeled after top conservatoire standards to produce well-rounded musicians ready for university entry.

- Remedial possibility: Those strong in practical skills but lacking theory can enroll after passing remedial classes in Year 1 ).

- Screening involves:
- A written theory test (Grade 5 level),
- Practical audition on chosen instrumentation or voice,
- Oral interview.
- Scheduled exams: September 3rd – September 6th, 2024.
