The NYSC management wants everyone to know that the leaflet going around that says corps members should pay ransom if kidnappers take them is fake. It is not real NYSC information, it is not part of any official safety guide, and both staff and corps members should completely ignore it. NYSC wants all corps members to know where real safety information comes from and how to avoid wrong messages that can put them in danger.
NYSC’s Real Position on Ransom and Safety
Fake NYSC Safety Pamphlet Promoting Ransom Payment
NYSC has seen a fake pamphlet telling corps members to pay ransom if they are kidnapped. A similar idea was shown to NYSC by a consultant back in 2021, but NYSC rejected it. Therefore, the management wants to clearly state that the pamphlet being shared is not from NYSC, and it does not reflect their policy on the safety of corps members and staff. Please ignore it.
NYSC remains fully committed to the safety and well-being of all corps members and staff. The scheme will keep working closely with security agencies and other partners to ensure everyone is safe.
Nigeria is ours; Nigeria we serve.
Thank you.
