National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Announces Physical Verification Dates for Foreign-Trained PCMs

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released an official notice for foreign-trained Nigerian graduates who are prospective corps members (PCMs) and whose academic credentials and travel documents have not yet undergone physical verification. The notice is not meant for all PCMs; it specifically applies only to those who are still waiting to complete this particular stage of the verification process.

Dates for the physical verification exercise

According to NYSC, the affected graduates are expected to present themselves for a physical verification exercise scheduled to take place from Monday, 12 January to Wednesday, 14 January 2026. The verification period is brief and clearly stated, and all concerned PCMs are expected to attend within these three days.

Purpose of the verification

NYSC explained that the physical verification exercise is mandatory for all PCMs affected by the notice. The exercise is aimed at confirming academic credentials and travel documents in order to complete the documentation process ahead of mobilisation. This step is an important requirement and forms part of NYSC’s standard procedures for ensuring that all eligible graduates are properly cleared before being mobilised for national service.

Instructions to affected PCMs

Prospective corps members who fall within this category have been advised to comply promptly and pay close attention to any additional instructions that may be issued by NYSC. The scheme also cautioned that failure to participate in the verification exercise within the stated period may result in delays in mobilisation or affect participation in the service year.

Affected graduates are therefore encouraged to make the necessary arrangements and attend the verification exercise as scheduled.
