The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2025 Batch C Certificates of Exemption have been officially produced and sent to schools all over Nigeria. These certificates are meant for graduates who were granted exemption from the NYSC service year for various valid reasons.
All certificates have already been delivered to the Corps Producing Institutions (CPIs), which are the universities, polytechnics, and other approved institutions where the graduates completed their studies. Graduates who are eligible for exemption are expected to collect their certificates directly from their schools. This process follows the normal procedures each school has for distributing documents to students.
It is important to note that some schools may take a little longer to process their records and hand over the certificates. Graduates are therefore advised to be patient, remain calm, and follow up politely with their school administration.
Six-Month Collection Rule
NYSC has reminded everyone about the rule concerning uncollected Certificates of Exemption. Any certificate that is not picked up by the graduate within six months of delivery to the school will be returned to NYSC. For the 2025 Batch C, this six-month countdown started on 3 December 2025. This means that graduates should make arrangements to collect their certificates as soon as possible rather than waiting until the last moment. If a certificate is returned to NYSC after the six months, retrieving it may take longer and could involve extra steps.
Graduates are encouraged to contact their school offices to get clear information about when and how to collect their certificates. Some schools may require students to present ID cards, clearance slips, or other verification documents, while others may have a simpler process. It is best to confirm early to avoid any delays or unnecessary stress.
In summary, graduates who were exempted from NYSC should check with their institutions, follow the collection guidelines, and act promptly to ensure they receive their Certificates of Exemption without any problems. Being proactive now will save time and avoid unnecessary complications later.
