The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has officially released the results of the November/December 2024 General Certificate Examinations (GCE). This announcement was made by NABTEB’s Acting Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Nnasia Asanga, on February 24, 2025, in Benin City.

Examination Overview

The November/December 2024 GCE, conducted between November 7 and December 7, 2024, saw a total enrollment of 44,730 O’Level candidates, comprising 25,542 males and 19,188 females, across 1,825 centers nationwide. Performance Analysis

The 67.56% pass rate for candidates obtaining five credits, including English and Mathematics, indicates a commendable performance. However, this reflects a slight decline compared to the previous year’s results. Conversely, the 95.94% pass rate for candidates obtaining five credits irrespective of English and Mathematics shows a marginal improvement over the 2023 performance.

Certification and Future Prospects

NABTEB has commenced issuing electronic certificates. Candidates from previous examinations, dating back to May/June 2017, can now obtain their certificates electronically. This initiative aims to streamline the certification process and provide easier access for candidates.

Dr. Asanga emphasized the importance of Technical and Vocational Education (TVE) and encouraged the public to acquire skills that promote self-employment and economic self-reliance. NABTEB certifications offer pathways for both academic advancement and career progression, making them valuable assets in today’s competitive job market. citeturn0search13
