Bells University of Technology, Ota (BUT) invites qualified candidates to apply for postgraduate studies — including Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), Master’s (M.Sc./MBA), M.Phil/Ph.D. programs for the 2025/2026 academic session. Forms are now available online via the official portal.
Available Programs & Eligibility
1. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
- Disciplines: Engineering, Natural & Applied Sciences, Environmental Science, Management, Food Science, etc.
- Requirements:
- Five O’Level credits – including English and Mathematics.
- First degree (minimum Third Class) or HND (Upper Credit) in relevant fields.
2. Master’s Degrees (M.Sc)
- Fields: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Transport & Project Management, Applied Sciences, Engineering, MBA, etc.
- Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Lower minimum); HND/PGD holders in related areas may be considered.
- MBA applicants also require ≥1 year managerial work experience and passing the internal GMAT.
3. M.Phil / Ph.D. Programs
- Examples: Architecture, Building Services, Estate Management, Urban Planning, Food Science, Biotechnology, etc.
- Requirements:
- Master’s degree (≥60% or CGPA ≥3.5) in relevant disciplines.
- Submission of a research proposal alongside application.
- Direct Ph.D. entry may be possible from M.Phil under defined conditions
How to Apply
- Obtain the Form
- Visit any designated bank (e.g., Zenith, UBA, Fidelity, ECO, Union, Bells Microfinance).
- Pay ₦15,000 plus a ₦350 transaction fee via e-Transact ).
- Access the Portal
- Go to the BUT postgraduate portal:
https://portal.bellsuniversity.edu.ng/pgapplication/
- Go to the BUT postgraduate portal:
- Register & Pay
- Register using your email and create a PASSCODE.
- Complete payment via Interswitch and obtain a Form Number.
- Fill & Submit Application
- Log in with your Form Number & PASSCODE.
- Upload required documents: O’Level, First Degree or HND/PGD, birth certificate, etc.
- Provide three referees who will complete Confidential Report Forms.
Note:
- Candidates with a professional master’s (no research component) can’t go straight into a PhD. They’ll need to take the MPhil/PhD route
- Those in the MPhil/PhD path must score at least 60% in MPhil coursework to move forward
- Falling short means you’ll finish with a terminal MPhil degree
- Applicants who don’t meet up may still be advised to begin with MPhil
