Are you planning to study at Abia State University (ABSU) for the 2025/2026 academic session? Then this guide is for you! The management of ABSU has announced the details for its Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for all prospective undergraduates.

Below, you’ll find all you need to know — from eligibility requirements to the step-by-step registration procedure.

Who Can Apply?

1. UTME Candidates

  • Candidates who selected ABSU as first choice institution in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
  • Candidates who scored at least the minimum cut-off mark prescribed by the university.
    • For most programs, ABSU’s general cut-off mark is 150 and above, but competitive courses like Medicine, Law, and Nursing may require higher scores.

2. Direct Entry Candidates

  • Candidates with A-level qualifications (e.g., OND, HND, NCE, IJMB, or JUPEB) who wish to gain direct entry into 200 level must also register for the screening.
  • Applicants must have chosen ABSU as first choice in their JAMB Direct Entry application.
Required Documents

All applicants must be ready to upload and present copies of:

  • 2025 JAMB UTME Result Slip or Direct Entry Acknowledgement Slip.

  • Recent passport photograph.
  • Evidence of payment for the screening.
When is the Screening?
  • The screening exercise will hold between August and September 2025 (exact dates will be communicated via ABSU’s official portal and candidates’ emails/phones).
  • Candidates are strongly advised to check their emails and ABSU’s website regularly for updates on exam dates and venues.
